OD/WEK & JAVA API / Native SSO for ICN for OnDemand in ODWEK 10.5 Issue
« on: August 03, 2020, 09:52:43 AM »
Works in 10.1, not in 10.5.

PH27990 is the APAR, fix is available from support.

Will be in 10.5.0.1 fixpack, no availability date has been set.

« on: July 29, 2020, 07:45:21 AM »
CMOD exposes the following z/OS issue:

Symptom:  long running ARSYSPIN task hangs.

Cause:  Virtual storage shortage

Fix:  OA58421: PRLRMAIN & DAGSH WORK AREA NOT BEING FREED AFTER ABEND IN DADSM PARTIAL RELEASE

Ed

Hit this again --- not so long running but fairly active ARSYSPIN started task took an 878.

z/OS Server / ICSF Issue
« on: July 27, 2020, 01:54:06 PM »
Symptom - switched CMOD workload to a new processor, saw unexplained increased use of CPU by CMOD

Cause - hardware. CSF accelerator card not coming up in time to be recognized as expected

How to tell if you have the problem:

Look at the CSF started task log

You should see this message:

CSFM111I   CRYPTOGRAPHIC FEATURE IS ACTIVE. coprocessor-name cii, SERIAL NUMBER nnnnnnn.

before this message:

CSFM015I   FIPS 140 SELF CHECKS FOR PKCS11 SERVICES SUCCESSFUL.
______________

If those messages are out of order then software emulation of the hardware accelerator is likely being performed.

No fix yet.

If you have this symptom you'll want to contact CSF support.

Is ACCE is affected also?

Yes

Deprecations and removals in Chrome 84  |  Web  |  Google Developers

A round up of the deprecations and removals in Chrome 84 to help you plan.

https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2020/05/chrome-84-deps-rems

ICN 3.0 and above supports TLS 1.2

NMO 3.0.3 iF1 and above support TLS 1.2

ICN support has not found any other ICN utilities that may be affected by clients moving to TLS 1.2 (like Edit, Sync, etc.)

Received this from one of the ICN support people:

Chrome 84 released this month implemented a TLS 1.0 / 1.1 restriction that causes a block access to ICN deployments that use the legacy protocols

Instructions to switch to TLS 1.2 on a WAS deployment:

z/OS Server / Re: Loading of multiple MVS PS files into CMOD
« on: July 21, 2020, 12:05:38 PM »
Can you tell us a little more about these huge files?

Line data?  PDFs?  AFP?  Spreadsheets that you're trying to store into CMOD?

Report Indexing / Re: ACIF V4.7 is now out, at least for z/OS
« on: July 15, 2020, 10:21:42 AM »
FYI - ACIF V4.7 is the level that is bundled with CMOD V10.5.

Ed

248
ACIF on CMOD v10.5 may put out a new message APK511W.

See the Ricoh guide:

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSLTBW_2.4.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r4.apku000/apskumst51.htm#apk511

The message is issued only if the one is using the ACIF parameter CONVERT=YES and the input file is line data with consecutive stream delimiters (which are considered “blank lines”).

In order to suppress the message and get everything working again, you need to use  CC=YES,DISCARD

Here are the options and behavior:

1) CONVERT=YES

cc=yes, discard  no msg and RC 0
cc=yes, fix      msg and RC 4 (default)
cc=yes,ignore   msg and RC 0
cc=yes,strict   msg and RC 16

2) CONVERT=NO

All options (discard, fix, ignore, strict) give no msg and RC 0.

This is when you're using this level of ACIF:

APK440I  ACIF AT PSFz470 HAS COMPLETED NORMALLY WITH RETURN CODE 0.

actually a typing mistake on my part, the screen shot shows version 10.5.0.0  .

Very good - that's the latest.

Definitely follow JD's recommendations, then.

It shows you are running  10.1.0.0  which makes you a "test pilot"  :)
being risk averse, I would prefer to be at 10.1.0.1 as soon as it is available.

10.1.0.0 is about as fresh as the pyramids.

Recommend you get to 10.1.0.6 before you do anything else.

MP Server / Re: Full Text - issues with ODFTIExporter.jar
« on: June 26, 2020, 09:51:06 PM »
Lair - not my strong suit but I remembered something about gson.

This is from the 10.1 readme:

     - Notes:
        - The ODApi.jar file now has a dependency on GSON. ODWEK install now
ships the gson-2.8.1.jar file in the jars directory. This jar file
must be copied to the same directory as the ODApi.jar file.

I understand that the message states we are exceeding a 'maximum size', but yet we can load the file MANUALLY by creating a batch load through SAR (CA product) and resubmitting the output to the SAME sysout class ARSLOADP is using.

What does it say the size of that load is?

If less, is something getting truncated?  Blanks perhaps?

Report Indexing / Re: indexing from filename
« on: June 09, 2020, 01:23:54 PM »
Ah - I misunderstood the original question.

I was thinking file name as in title of the file - not the filename as it's there on the directory.

I have never used the -b or -B parameters, am unfamiliar with them.

Do not use the PDF METADATA parameter.

ARS1130E 2 fields submitted by the indexer, 3 expected

Something is looking for 3 values.  Can you tell what?

I knew I had seen this come up before:

http://www.odusergroup.org/forums/index.php?topic=2581

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEPCD_9.5.0/com.ibm.ondemand.ir.doc/dodix005.htm

I didn't use the graphical wizard or any special parameters.  As the doc says:

The only parameter required for metadata indexing is:
indexmode=metadata

I may be able to dig up more if you still need it.  Let me know.

Not hidden.  If SA2 is all you got, then that's all you have (so far).
